Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using TravelBond. By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "Member," or "you") and TravelBond ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"), a publication registered in France at 12 Ruelle du Port, 75004 Paris, France.
By accessing, browsing, registering for, or otherwise using the TravelBond website, newsletter, member portal, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including visitors, free subscribers, and paid members. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
To use the TravelBond Platform, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher).
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- Not be barred from using our services under applicable laws in your country of residence.
If you are under 18 years old, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
3. Member Accounts
3.1 Account Registration
To access member-only features, you must create an account by providing accurate, complete, and current information. You agree to maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate.
3.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorised them.
- Notifying us immediately at hello@travelbond.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations. You may not share your account credentials with others or allow third parties to access your account.
3.3 One Account Per Person
Each individual may hold only one free member account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent access restrictions is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension of all associated accounts.
4. Membership & Subscriptions
4.1 Free Membership
TravelBond offers a free membership tier that provides access to a curated selection of editorial content, the community digest, and selected member features. Free membership does not require a payment method and may be cancelled at any time.
4.2 Paid Memberships
We may offer paid membership tiers that provide access to premium content, additional features, or ad-free reading. Details of paid tiers, pricing, and benefits are described on our Membership page. By subscribing to a paid tier:
- You authorise us to charge your selected payment method at the agreed billing interval (monthly or annual).
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
- Prices may be updated with at least 30 days' notice before the next billing cycle.
4.3 Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel a paid membership at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, your access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable consumer protection law (including the EU Consumer Rights Directive).
4.4 EU Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason, provided that you have not yet accessed any premium-only content. To exercise this right, notify us at hello@travelbond.com.

6. User-Submitted Content
6.1 Your Content
If you submit comments, reviews, messages, or other content to the Platform ("User Content"), you retain ownership of your original work. By submitting User Content, you grant TravelBond a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, distribute, and moderate your content on the Platform for the purpose of operating and promoting TravelBond.
6.2 Content Standards
All User Content must comply with our community guidelines and must not:
- Be false, misleading, or defamatory.

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or restrict any User Content that violates these standards, at our sole discretion, without prior notice.
6.3 Your Representations
By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to grant the licence described above and that your content complies with these Terms.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Platform in any way that:
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

- Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any server, database, account, or network connected to our Platform.

- Harvests, collects, or stores personal data about other users without their consent.
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination and may be reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
8. Third-Party Links & Services
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by TravelBond. We provide these links for convenience and informational purposes only. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third-party sites.
You access third-party sites at your own risk. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party service you use in connection with our Platform.
Some of our features may integrate with third-party services (e.g., embedded videos, maps, or social share widgets). Your use of such integrations is subject to the relevant third party's terms, and we accept no liability for issues arising from such integrations.
9. Disclaimers
9.1 Editorial Accuracy
TravelBond publishes editorial travel content produced by independent authors. While we strive for accuracy, we make no representations or warranties — express or implied — regarding the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or reliability of any content. Travel conditions, regulations, visa requirements, and local circumstances change frequently; always verify critical information with official sources before travelling.
9.2 Platform Availability
We aim to maintain continuous availability of the Platform but cannot guarantee that it will be available at all times. The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict access to the Platform for operational, maintenance, or security reasons at any time, with or without notice.
9.3 No Professional Advice
Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal, financial, medical, or professional travel advice. Any decisions you make based on content published by TravelBond are made entirely at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- TravelBond, its directors, employees, authors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform or its content.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to TravelBond in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) €50.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
EU and UK consumer rights are not affected by this limitation clause. Statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws remain fully intact.
11. Suspension & Termination
11.1 Termination by You
You may close your TravelBond account at any time by accessing your account settings or by emailing us at hello@travelbond.com. Upon closure, your right to access member-only features will cease immediately (or at the end of your billing period for paid memberships).
11.2 Termination by TravelBond
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, if we determine that you have:
- Violated any provision of these Terms or our community guidelines.
- Engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal behaviour.
- Provided false or misleading registration information.
- Failed to pay subscription fees when due.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your account, your right to use the Platform immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) shall survive.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes or claims arising from them (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
For consumers in the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence shall also apply and take precedence where they offer greater protection.
We encourage you to contact us directly in the first instance to resolve any dispute. If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days, you may refer the matter to the competent courts of Paris, France, or — for EU consumers — to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity listed by the European Commission at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Send a notification email to all registered members at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
- Display a prominent notice on the Platform for 30 days following any material update.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with any changes, you must stop using the Platform and may close your account.
